AuditFile Launches Connector for Claude, Bringing Audit Engagements Into Anthropic's AI Assistant

Listed in the Claude connector directory, the connector lets auditors ask Claude about engagements, trial balances, findings, review notes and workpapers using their own AuditFile sign-in and permissions

San Francisco, CA - October 26, 2026 - AuditFile, Inc., provider of a cloud-based audit automation platform for CPAs and internal audit teams, today announced the AuditFile connector for Claude, the AI assistant from Anthropic. The connector is listed in the Claude connector directory and works in Claude on the web, in the Claude desktop and mobile apps, and in Claude Code.

Audit teams increasingly turn to general-purpose AI assistants for analysis and drafting, but engagement data has stayed inside the audit platform, leaving staff to copy balances, findings and notes by hand. The AuditFile connector removes that step. An auditor connects Claude to AuditFile with a normal AuditFile sign-in, then asks questions in plain language: which engagements are due this month, how a trial balance changed from the prior year, which review comments remain open on a procedure, or which findings on an engagement were reported last year. Claude answers from the engagement itself.

The connector gives Claude read-only access to 21 views of engagement data: engagements and their progress, the section and procedure tree with sign-off status, trial balances, accounts, adjustments, analytical reviews and findings, workpaper metadata and download links, review notes and their threads, firm staff, licensed audit programs, and saved Report Studio reports.

Built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) and OAuth 2.1, the connector applies the same controls as AuditFile itself. Every request runs as the signed-in user, within that user's engagement permissions, and is recorded in the firm's audit trail with a request ID. Firm administrators keep their existing controls, including API enablement, IP allowlists, multi-factor authentication and single sign-on, and any user can disconnect Claude at any time. The connector holds a read-only scope. Creating, changing and signing off audit work remains in AuditFile, where the firm's review and approval controls apply.

"Our customers already use Claude for research and drafting. Now their engagements are there too, with exactly the permissions they have in AuditFile," said Steven Bong, CEO of AuditFile. "Ask Claude about an engagement and it answers from the actual trial balance, the actual findings and the actual review notes. It is read-only, it is logged, and it took our team one afternoon to connect."

The AuditFile connector is available now to AuditFile customers. Users add it from the Claude connector directory or from Customize and Connectors in Claude, and Claude Code users connect with a single command. Because the connector uses the open MCP standard, the same endpoint also works with other MCP-compatible AI clients. Documentation is available at auditfile.com/claude .
